[Most meaningful to me were] the private and intimate commune with self, the card-making, the giving voice, the opening to shift and change. The magnifcation of the experience, owing to the large size of the group, and hence, the intention and support was unexpected and powerful, and affirming. Your spectacular mentorship of a group this large and coursework this encompassing was a model I hadn’t encountered in all my years of teaching and convening conferences. Brilliant! ~ Dawn Marano, UT

It was such a gentle and respectful Training. No time anxieties -- a smooth flow. I felt honored as an individual and as a part of the Whole.
~Bonnie Anderson, OR

I feel affirmed in the work I've been doing and encouraged to do more! I feel connected now to a supportive community of "like minds"!! ... I have resources behind me to expand working with SoulCollage® -- in regional heart and cancer centers, perhaps. You have given me a great gift! ~ Mary Mathews, LCSW, NY

What the SoulCollage® Facilitator Training Covers

  • How to facilitate SoulCollage® card-making, including ways to support self-esteem and avoid competition and self-criticism.
  • How to implement a therapeutic structure which both protects and encourages self-discovery.
  • Ways to adapt the process to different individual issues and different populations.
  • Demonstration of how to access  intuition with SoulCollage® cards.
  • Discussion about how to use the soulcollage.com section of the website for Facilitators to access resources for their SoulCollage® Facilitating with clients.
  • Help in envisioning a plan for facilitating SoulCollage® that fits your own passions, intentions, and competencies.
  • Ethical pitfalls and challenges that might arise when one is working with individuals and groups using the powerful spiritual and personal images on SoulCollage® cards.

Participants make cards, share cards, and use their own processes as teaching examples for the group in learning how to facilitate SoulCollage® work, because the focus in the Training is training rather than card-making per se as in a workshop. We learn how to do "readings" which use our own intuition to deepen self-knowledge. We learn creative applications and how to adapt the process to different populations. We work towards constructing a plan that fits participants' intended use of the technique. No degree or other credentials are needed to register for this course.

A Training Group in Los Gatos, CA

SoulCollage® continues to teach me acceptance and love for myself and others. This weekend deepened my understanding of how alike we all are deep inside, behind all our roles and tastes. I feel more confident about my ability to attract and share with others who will benefit. The opportunity to help others find the magic of the process is an amazing gift. ~ J. B., OK

Work-Study Opportunities

The SoulCollage® Trainings in Santa Cruz are very interested in making it possible for people to take this Training if they cannot afford it otherwise, and if they will be facilitating SoulCollage® with people who also might not have access to it otherwise. If this applies to you, we usually offer one work-study position for a new participant at each Training. We also offer one work-study position for a trained Facilitator who wants to re-take the Training. Each of the people accepted for these two positions pay a fee of $375, instead of the current training fee. Applicants on a wait list from previous Trainings are given priority.

Responsibilities include: (1) being ready to help at 11:00 am on Thursday, with set up and 2) also with break down and packing up on Sunday and (3) helping with registration, set up of chairs, art supplies, clean-up and other tasks during part of meal breaks and breaks between workshop sessions and helping with set up and breakdown of the "store" if that is scheduled. These tasks involve some lifting, such as boxes of magazines, books and products, or rearranging tables and chairs.

Work-study participants are responsible for the full cost of accommodations and $375 for the Training. If you become unable to fulfill the work-study agreement at the Training, we require that you repay the balance of the training fee, $295 (for early registration fee), within one year.

Work study applicants who have completed the pre-requisites above upon applying will have priority consideration.

If you have questions and to apply, contact training@soulcollage.com. Work study positions are popular requests and there is usually a waiting list for positions.

Accommodations

The lovely Presentation Center, an eco-friendly peaceful oasis tucked among the redwoods on 67 acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains in Los Gatos, CA will be your Training home. The Center offers nature trails and contemplative walking paths around the field or the lake.  Located just 30 minutes from Silicon Valley and about an hour from San Francisco. (San Jose is the closest airport.)

Presentation Center is not a hotel, but a convent Retreat Center that provides overnight lodging in the 100-year old historic wing of the Pueblo Building and in a number of cottages that accommodate 4 to 11 people each, depending on the size of the cottage. Cottage living rooms provide a comfortable gathering place for small groups. Many of the cottages have kitchens or kitchenettes. Most rooms are single or double occupancy dependent on your choice. Both the Pueblo Building and the cottages have dormitory-style shared bathrooms. We recommend staying at the Center in order to experience the intimacy of the group setting for the entire weekend. However, if you wish to experience all the modern conveniences of a hotel, there are many good choices in the area.

ADA Accommodations and Information

ADA accommodations are available at the Center; please let us know if this is needed. It is important that a participant is able to be present forparticipate in,and complete all sessions in the Training. The few days are packed with exercises and information in order to make the Training financially accessible to more people, and this can sometimes be arduous, especially for people who are challenged in terms of energetic stamina. There is a lot of sitting, some movement exercises (which could be modified), and dyadic and group sharing. The dining room is a level walk from the meeting room

One deaf participant brought her own translator for whom she paid the fee and the shared accommodations fee. Many have been able to participate in and complete the Training while in wheelchairs or on crutches.

Service dogs – Several have been able to bring their service dogs to Trainings. Please
write to the Registrar for more information about this as we must arrange this with the facility.

Personally, the awe I feel regarding the generosity, calm, safety of women has been humbling, gratifying, astonishing, mind-blowing and professionally, the Training was enlightening, clarifying, exciting. I had most questions answered and know how to get further answers. I've gained a beautiful new way to see myself, to help others gain insights and shine the light of healing into the "dark."  ~ Debbie Sutter, NV
