Description of SoulCollage® work

I have been facilitating SoulCollage® groups in the Charlotte area since 2004 and never fail to be amazed at the discoveries that participants make when they allow themselves to follow their intuition and let the images speak to them.  SoulCollage® is an easy, non-threatening process which allows you to get to know yourself better and create art at the same time.  I love creating a sacred space around the class and do this by incorporating poetry and music into my workshops.  In this fast paced world SoulCollage® is a perfect way to slow down and spend time building a relationship with yourself and your friends.  I find that SoulCollage® is also a form of visual meditation.

Trainer Statement

Catherine trained as a SoulCollage® Facilitator Trainer with Seena Frost in January, 2012.  Catherine is taking the process to South Africa and will be offering a SoulCollage® Facilitator Training weekend as well as one-day SoulCollage® workshops in Durban, South Africa in April, 2012.

Personal work with own SoulCollage® cards

I turn to my SoulCollage® cards when I am confused, frustrated or anxious.  Making a card can often uncover what is really worrying me, and can bring me a sense of direction and peace.  Having collected images since I was a child and believing in the healing power of the image, SoulCollage® is a way to combine the things I love in a meaningful way.  It is also a way to re-discover the creative artist within.

Other Notes

Drawing on her 14 years experience as an attorney in South Africa and her passion for creativity, Catherine also consults for WholeBrain Consulting, teaching methods to tap into the potential of the creative and intuitive right brain to bring fresh perspectives and possibilities to business problem-solving.

Trainings

SoulCollage® Facilitator Training in Durban, South Africa: April 13-15, 2012

SoulCollage® Facilitator Training in Durban, South Africa: April 13-15, 2012

This will be the first-ever SoulCollage® Facilitator Training to be offered in South Africa.  There will also be two one-day workshops preceding the training (on April 11th and April 12th) for those who have not had the opportunity to experience SoulCollage® and need hands-on experience before the training.  The training is for those who feel called to share the SoulCollage® process with others as a facilitator.  Anyone can register for the training, and many people in the helping professions become SoulCollage® Facilitators as they can see the benefit of using the process with their clients and patients.

In this Facilitator Training, you will get a deeper understanding of the many ways to offer SoulCollage® workshops to groups and individuals.  You will learn what is involved in creating a safe space for people to do this deep, exploratory, and creative process.

Although there will be some time for making new cards, in the Facilitator Training the focus will be on preparing you to be a good facilitator, rather than on card-making. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the Training. Once you receive your certificate, you may use the SoulCollage® trademark and logo in doing individual or group work according to the Principles of SoulCollage®. To receive a "Certificate of Completion" you must attend the training from start to finish.

The cost of the training including training materials and a one-year membership of the SoulCollage® Facilitator Circle is $550.  Accommodation and meals will be for your own account.  The workshop starts at 2pm on Friday, 13th April and ends at 5pm on Sunday, 15th April.  The workshop days start at 9:30am and end around 6:30pm.

The training will be held at Manor House, 14 Nuttall Gardens, Berea, Durban, South Africa. If you are coming from out of town we suggest you find accommodation in the Florida Road/Innes Road area of the Durban Berea if you need transport to and from the training.  The closest B&B is Rosetta House, the Quarters Hotel is in Florida Road, and Tekweni Backpackers is available if you want very inexpensive accommodation.

Catherine will be in South Africa from March 27th.  To register for the Training or contact Catherine after this date, please call Durban 031-312-1248 (Hardy and Associates).

Consider becoming one of the first trained SoulCollage® Facilitators in South Africa!  The next South African workshops will be held in 2014.
