Biography

I am a professional photographer, collage artist, wife, mother, sister and daughter! My BFA degree is from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Creativity has always been present in my environment, family, friends, hands-on activities as well as my interests and beliefs. I want to encourage people to unleash their creativity and discover their true selves. SoulCollage® has been the primary focus of my life for seven years.

Description of SoulCollage® work

I enjoy teaching SoulCollage as much as I love making my own cards. It's a gift to see others enjoying the creative process, then learning to look deeply into their new card for its personal message. Often we get together in the month following a workshop to look at our new cards, enjoy a potluck meal together, and create more cards. I've made new friends with a common bond in SoulCollage!

Personal work with own SoulCollage® cards

My discovery of SoulCollage came during a period when I was creating large, complicated collages for pleasure. I sensed there were important themes or hidden symbols within the collages and wondered what they might be saying to me. An Oregon vacation led me to an art store where I noticed Seena Frost's book, SoulCollage. When I read the descriptions on the back cover, I knew I'd found an important key to my questions. The book, and (one year later) a Portland workshop with Consuelo Tolosa encouraged me to embark on one of my most important adventures. The SoulCollage facilitator's workshop I attended in June, 2004 was one of the best experiences ever! Creating my own soulcards and teaching/introducing SoulCollage to others, is now my primary endeavor. I love the intuitive work of discovering images that speak to me, then using my hands to create the small collages. My earlier questions about archteypal myths and Jungian psychology are answered through my cards, teaching new aspects of an inner and outer life. Most of the time my cards seem to create themselves, a joyous, mystical process I love to witness.
