Biography
With an undergraduate degree in Art Education and Ceramics, and a Master's Degree in Art Therapy, I am continually fascinated at the profound changes my clients and workshop participants display, using the arts in their healing. SoulCollage® is a perfect fit in the world of the Expressive Arts Therapies, as it helps people find a way to express who they are through imagery and voice, using the phrase "I Am One Who". I enjoy taking SoulCollage® "on the road" and have offered workshops and trainings at universities, arts centers and retreat centers from San Diego to Arizona, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida and France! Future plans include a week-long retreat in the Algarve, Portugal, May of 2014, along with fellow Facilitator and Trainer Linda Woolfson.
Description of SoulCollage® work
My SoulCollage® "Open Studios" give space for people to make cards, share ideas, do readings and more. I offer a couple of "Introduction to SoulCollage®" workshops every year, and I have led workshops for the American Art Therapy Association, at their annual conference and at the local level in both northern and southern California, and at the Expressive Therapies Summit in NYC. I believe in the healing power of the arts, and find SoulCollage® to be a welcome addition to my Art Therapy work. Personal work with own SoulCollage® cards
I enjoy continually creating and building my deck of cards, and I consult them for understanding and inspiration. In working with groups, doing readings and delving into the imagery, I find this process to be soul-nurturing and profound. I am seeing new patterns emerge, new relationships between cards, and am finding new ways of working with the cards that continually amaze and inspire me!
Other Notes
I teach courses and mentor students in the Expressive Arts Therapies at Prescott College in Arizona. SoulCollage® is often an important addition to my course offerings.

Spend time with like-minded people who enjoy their SoulCollage® cards and want to build their decks and deepen their process of doing readings.
This workshop is for those who have already begun making cards and would like to continue their SoulCollage® journey. Time will be spent creating new cards and doing readings, enjoying the company of our growing SoulCollage® community.

Come to beautiful northern New Mexico and immerse yourself in the soul-satisfying process of SoulCollage® where you will create a personal deck of collaged cards. Choose from a unique collection of images, then using just scissors and glue, create collaged cards that reflect your personality, influences, family and friends, your guides. Discover your soul’s voice as you enter the beautiful world of imagery and intuition. You will get a taste of how you can consult your cards for self-exploration and understanding by doing readings alone or in small groups. Give yourself the gift of a week of SoulCollage® in the country that Georgia O'Keeffe loved and painted. Ghost Ranch in the fall is gorgeous. Adding SoulCollage® into that mix is magical! We will be doing some new and different journaling techniques in this workshop, as well as a guided labyrinth walk.

You might be curious about how to lead groups in this process, how to use it in a therapeutic setting, how to work one on one with clients. Or, you might just want to deepen your understanding and build your deck. SoulCollage® is not "therapy" per se, but can be used by therapists and counselors in their practice very effectively. As a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist, I have found SoulCollage® to be a wonderful way for clients and group participants to work with and give voice to images, and to acknowledge all the parts of the self by creating collages. In 2014, I am changing the Training Schedule for these weekend events, so that we will not work into the evening as in previous years. Each session will finish at 6pm, rather than 9pm. If participants wish to make cards or hang out in the studio after dinner, that is their choice, but it is not going to be necessary to stay until 9pm. However, this does mean that the evening hours have been added to the Sunday session, which now finishes at 5pm rather than at noon. I think this will create a better atmosphere in which to experience SoulCollage® and learn all there is to learn in the weekend!
