Source, the card we create to honor the mysterious, formless One, the Totality many of us call divine, is described in the SoulCollage® book. Since its publication, two other transpersonal cards have evolved, SoulEssence (the spark of Source within all things), and Witness (the potential for Consciousness). These cards represent a Presence that is beyond form and from which all forms arise: they are best known in Silence and we do not consult them. They let us touch in with our divine nature in a way different from our other SoulCollage cards. This retreat explores these three Transpersonal ‘Faces’ using poetry, images, connection to Nature, movement, and especially the practice of silence. This is an intimate retreat, space is limited, register early!

As we know, the death of a pet can be excruciatingly painful. Pet owners often feel alone in their grief, especially in a culture that is generally not comfortable with death of any kind. To honor the one-year anniversary of the death of my beloved 16-year-old Aussie, "Poco", I am offering a year of monthly free SoulCollage classes to folks who have lost a pet. (The loss can be recent or from long ago). How does SoulCollage help with grief? It is a process of using images from magazines and other sources and allowing our intuitive (right brain) to create a “SoulCollage card”. In small groups, we create the cards and then spend time together using the left side of our brains to help us understand the unique meaning of each card. Because this process takes us beneath the limitations of words and linear thinking, it is an amazing tool for processing feelings. The nature of groups, of course, is that we realize we are not alone in our sorrow.
Fee: No cost but please bring favorite scissors if you have them.

Tenants Harbor, ME – July 15-19, 2009 – Seeking Your Soul: SoulCollage® Retreat

Do you long for a sense of deep connection? Enjoy exploring different parts of yourself? Come learn how SoulCollage® can open intuitive pathways to the “inner jewel” that resides within you. As you create small collages that embody your soul, you will discover how they offer guidance and insight into your life. Reflective inner work, yes, but also FUN! Each day, I will introduce a different aspect of the process. Whether new or experienced, you can dive right into making your own personal SoulCollage deck. There will be time each day to take walks, explore the lovely St. George Peninsula, go swimming and kayaking, or just hang out. No artistic experience necessary. All materials provided.
The retreat will be held at Blue Moon Yurt, my circular house nestled in a peaceful spot close to the ocean. There is a labyrinth on the property. You can walk to Roaring Spout, a natural thunder hole in a cliff overlooking a truly spectacular view of the ocean. Other scenic spots such as Drift In Beach, Marshall Point Lighthouse, and Port Clyde are nearby. Lodging will be at the yurt or nearby B&B.

From time to time we all feel worried. It is an unavoidable human emotion. And let’s face it, in this economy there is quite a lot to possibly worry about. Just watch the nightly news or look at today’s headlines: worries abound. Worries can be large or small, long-lasting or fleeting. Worries can drag us down and keep us in an impossible-to-get-out-of rut, or they can spur us out of stress and into a better understanding of who we are, into a deeper appreciation of the richness and beauty of life.
SoulCollage® is an intuitive artmaking process that uses very simple materials: magazine images, scissors, and glue. It is a creative process that is truly accessible to everyone, even people who believe they have no artistic ability. SoulCollage® is magical, mysterious and fun. Making the cards and reading the cards is a powerful way to “keep in the sunlight.”

You'll learn several techniques for using your cards as an ongoing practice of soulwork –reading the cards, journalling, poetry, prayer, and storytelling.
