Roberta Rook is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who has been working with the bereaved for the past 8 years, having come to this work through her own “dark night”. She is a SoulCollage Facilitator who has used this process in grief work for the past three years.

WASHINGTON
Seattle, WA – July, August & September, 2008 - SoulCollage Monthly “Muse Studios” -- Collaging & Card-Making Sessions
Facilitated by Alia Calendar.
Spend some time this Summer courting your Muse and tending your creative soul through these monthly special-topic SoulCollage card-making studios. Open to both experienced SoulCollagers and those who’ve never created a card or a collage before in their lives! Each studio includes facilitation and exploration of the theme in a variety of ways, as well as plenty of time for image-hunting, card-making, and sharing what we’ve created.
Summer Themes
"Anima Mundi: The Soul of the World" -- Sec.1: Sunday, July 13th, 1:30 - 4:30 pm or Sec. 2: Tuesday July 15 -- 6:30-9:30 PM
Novelist and theologian Frederick Buechner speaks of “…the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” In this session we’ll gather images that reflect those aspects of the world’s need for healing that speak most deeply to us, that evoke our compassion and desire to respond in some way.
"Sanctuary" -- Sec. 1: Sunday, August 17th, 1:30 - 4:30 pm or Sec. 2: Tuesday August 19 -- 6:30-9:30 PM
Where do you turn when your soul requires a respite from the demands and distractions of our modern speeded-up life? In this session we will explore the theme of sanctuary. We’ll consider outer places that give us a sense of retreat and renewal; and we will create an image of an “inner sanctuary” that we can access within whenever the need arises.
"Transforming the Inner Critic" -- Sec. 1: Monday September 8 or Sec. 2: Tuesday September 9 -- 6:30-9:30 PM
Like many of our “shadow” selves, the Inner Critic has a dual nature. It can be a sabotaging and relentless presence, eliciting fear, shame and self-doubt. Or, confronted and engaged, it can reveal its hidden gifts of discernment, focus, and ultimately, support. We will explore both dimensions of this complex inner figure through our discussion, image-gathering and collaging.
Muse Studios are limited to 6 participants per section. Pre-registration required 1 week prior to session. All materials are provided.
Location: Green Lake area of Seattle
Fee: $35 per session, or register in advance for both sessions for $90. All materials are provided.
For more information or to register: Contact Alia Calendar, LifeMuse Creations: (206) 363-4454, or email her.
