Description: Open Studio provides a time and place for card-making alongside others, and for learning from one another. Open Studio is for those who have begun the SoulCollage® process as well as for those who would like to explore it for the first time. Themes will be suggested for inspiration in this non-instructional format, but in SoulCollage® Open Studio you will be led by the images themselves, so any themes will be lightly held.

Each session includes images, supplies for card-making, and 1 blank card (with additional blanks available to you at cost). Hot tea will be provided. You are welcome to bring a snack.

SoulCollage ® is a creative and intuitive process of collecting images and creating 5” x 8” cards that depict various aspects of our personalities. First Monday of the month: 6-9pm

These regular monthly sessions are for people who are already making SoulCollage® cards, not for people new to the process. They are not for tuition, although from time to time I will add some kind of learning experience which is not covered in my introductory workshops, or I will have a guest presenter. Rather, they're for people who have previously attended a workshop or who have otherwise been making cards for a while, and they're designed as an opportunity to meet other SoulCollagers,  to make cards together, to share our ideas and experiences of using SoulCollage®, and to have fun! 

Anyone who is doing SoulCollage® is welcome to come to these evenings, even if you don't know me.  As long as you're making cards, you're eligible to attend. Seena Frost, the creator of SoulCollage®  believes that community is a vitally important component of SoulCollage®. 

Please note that if you don't want to share any of your insights from your cards with another person or the group,  even in this safe and nurturing environment, that is perfectly OK.  Please still come along and enjoy the company and card-making.

Join Roberta Rook, LCPC, for “Afternoons with SoulCollage®”, where we will be making more SoulCollage® cards and expanding our use of the technique through the creation of decks of collaged cards unique to each participant.   Card collections will be used for consultations and readings regarding the life questions and concerns of group participants.   Group members will have the opportunity to draw on the support, insight, and observations of each participant to enhance and deepen their experience of these “life illustrations”.   “Afternoons with SoulCollage®” invite participants to relax, connect, create, and “go gently yet deeply” into their true Essence.

Join us for a fun, relaxing, and creative mini-retreat.  SoulCollage® Sundays are monthly drop-in groups which are an opportunity to develop your very own deck of SoulCollage® cards with images that you are drawn to. Using the art form of collage, it is an intuitive method of exploring all the various aspects of ourselves and our unique histories.  Images reach us non-verbally, in ways that can be surprising. Sometimes our intuition knows a lot more than we do!  As we collage the various facets of ourselves, both inner and outer, a deeper understanding and integration emerges.

SoulCollage® Sundays are open to experienced Soul Collagers as well as newcomers.  No art experience  necessary - just receptivity, trust in the process, and a spirit of adventure!  Bring a journal if you like.

In this 5-hour playshop we will be creating SoulCollage® cards and dancing our Self and Soul.

You do not need to be an artist or a dancer to participate in this introductory playshop, but after this playshop you will celebrate the artist and dancer in you!

Highlights: Guided journey and dance through the chakras to meet an animal ally that you will dance and move as; discover a part of your personality that you want to honor through dance and making a card; dance through feelings and celebrate one with a card; discover which archetype you most resonate with and dance and create a card to honor it.

SoulCollage® is a collage process for self-discovery of one’s creative inner self and personal journey.  The process was developed by Senna B. Frost, M. Div., M.A. to create a powerful and personal deck of collaged cards that tell a story of the many aspects of our lives.

Images for these cards are gathered from magazines, personal images, our own artwork, and other print materials.  They are chosen intuitively and combined in the collage process on a 5” x 8” card of matboard.  All of this is done in a supportive, non-judgmental space with others also exploring their creativity. 

During a class or workshop, all materials are furnished, although you may bring any of your own supplies you like, such as magazines, images you have already collected, or your favorite small scissors.

SoulCollage(R): Where Art and Soul Meet is a beginning exploration of the SoulCollage(R) process.This workshop is scheduled on Thursday and Friday during the week long Rhinelander School Of the Arts. The Rhinelander School of the Arts is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin Department of Continuing Studies. Each summer for nearly 50 years, more than 250 people have gathered in northern Wisconsin for a week of study, performance, exhibits, and other creative activities. More than 50 workshops in body/mind/spirit; food and fitness; art and folk art; music; digital media; and writing are offered. Participants can choose from any and all one, two, and five-day classes to craft their own mix for creative exploration and renewal.   Registration through the SOA begins in April at www.soawisconsin.org.

This retreat integrates the SoulCollge^® process with the tasks and challenges of Finding Your Way in the Second Half of Life. We will create SoulCollage cards that will allow us to go deeper into parts of ourselves and uncover our gifts and wisdom as our adventure in the Second Half of Life unfolds . We will explore the universal gates of wisdom that cultural anthropologist Angeles Arrien describes inThe Second Half of Life: Opening the Eight Gates of Initiation.

My workshops build on a simple premise:  we teach who we are.  Good teachers possess much more than information and techniques.  They possess a capacity for connectedness.  While teachers are continually told what to do, how to do it, when, where etc. they are often unable to stop and reflect on the meaning of it all.  It’s easy to become discouraged.  These workshops are not a band aid; they deal with the very core of the situation:  the soul of the teacher that touches the soul of the student. 

These are formation retreats.  A crucial component is allowing teachers to discover or rediscover their own particular gifts, strengths and sensibilities.  These are not the skills they went to college to get, nor are they the ones they have worked so hard to excel in, they are a part of the teacher’s essence.  It is important to honor these gifts so that teachers are then able to honor the gifts in their students and colleagues as well.  

Process:  Using a simple creative process of collage art, writing, and listening techniques we allow a safe space for teachers to reach deeply and hear each other.  At the heart of the process is the technique of honest open questioning.  There is no advising, no fixing, no saving, no setting straight.  Often, what each person wants most deeply is not to be fixed or saved but simply to be heard, to be received.  However, this is not a “share or die” process.  Before answering questions in the larger group we invite teachers to take time for reflection and journal writing.  Then, rather than going around the room sharing in turn, we work in pairs and small groups before inviting people to speak as they feel ready. 
 

This retreat weekend for SoulCollage® facilitators will follow the second annual meeting of the Midwest facilitators group to take place on Friday afternoon (12-4). This is an opportunity to deepen your own practice and enjoy a fun, soul-tending, invigorating weekend with other facilitators.

On Saturday, Audrey Chowdhury, SoulCollage® facilitator and certified practitioner of Integrative Breathwork will provide the opportunity for us to experience the power of music to unlock your inner wisdom and to deepen your compassionate heart. Following the Musical Soul Journey, we make SoulCollage cards and/or mandalas to integrate our experience. Audrey will also be available for individual consultations using your SoulCollage cards during the weekend.

We will explore the seasons of the year and how they relate to the seasons of our lives.  Using poetry, readings, music and soulcollage(r) we will create cards and use them as a jumping off point to write some of the stories of our lives.  We will use the Soulcollage process of exploring "I am one who", working in diads, small groups, and whole group.  As always safety is of the utmost importance and sharing is by choice. This group will meet five times over the course of year. $225.00

Imagine spending a creative weekend beginning to collage (or continuing to collage) your own deck of imaginal cards. You will browse through piles of images and find those that call to you. They could be images that represent some of the many guides, allies, and challengers active in your soul. Using these images you will collage cards that depict your personality parts, your archetypal guides, your energetic companion animals, and even some of the sentient beings that have loved, taught, and challenged you. Along with time for creating cards will be time to gather in small groups and speak from your images. You will be surprised by the wisdom that bubbles up from your deep soul when you step imaginatively into an image and speak to a question from this new perspective. A supportive community listening as witnesses and scribing your words will help make this a memorable experience.

During this workshop participants will collage personal cards, speak to questions from their card images, and discover firsthand how this creative practice reflects vital elements of the dawning paradigm. Collage itself is a metaphor for what millions of people are, right now around the world, calling into reality: a new, cosmic unity. With collage we take separated, seemingly unrelated images, and find how they fit together into a beautiful and balanced unity.

The more we practice the SoulCollage® process the more our innate creativity will unfold in all aspects of our life. We become co-creators on many levels. Cooperation takes the place of competitiveness; feminine energy rises to balance masculine energies. We learn the value of listening to many perspectives, both internally as our many personality parts state their needs (and gripes), and externally as the needs (and gripes) of other persons and other nations are listened to and honored. These are critical pieces of the new paradigm and of this practice.
