Biography

I have been an RN since the early 90s and a long time Zen buddhist practitioner. I have been offering process painting, SoulCollage and visual journaling through my studio since 2008. Beyond offering opportunities for growth and healing through creativity, my great loves are my partner of more than 25 years, two grown children, the family dog and my piano. To be in nature is an abiding enthusiasm - I'm a runner, backpacker, and bike to work in all weather. I cut back my studio offerings in the summer to encourage all of us to get outside!

Description of SoulCollage® work

I offer a monthly morning of SoulCollage at the studio. Participants are invited to work on themes but have the freedom to make whatever cards call to them. We have time for card making and card reading every session. All supplies are provided.

I am available to lead additional workshops having hosted groups in monasteries, community centers and private homes. In addition, there are occasional special series offered through the studio.

Personal work with own SoulCollage® cards

SoulCollage has been a pivotal part of healing through depression, burnout and health crisis. Making cards provided an opportunity to be creative, enjoying colors and patterns, cutting and pasting in an undemanding practice. It was also an instrumental part of beginning to express emotions and reflect experiences.

I have developed a great respect for the intuitive process and principles of allowing and honoring whatever comes during creative practice. I trust that we all have a fundamental wisdom and inclination toward wholeness. The act of making cards can be meditative, playful, touching and energizing. I took to card making very quickly! It has been a longer process to learn how to harness the powerful wisdom available from my cards by engaging the discipline of the initial reading and then returning to them in spreads and as prompts for writing.

The healing and ease I developed as I included SoulCollage in my selfcare activities are the motivation for offering it to others. It has been so valuable for me, I want to be sure it is available for others.

    THE HEART OF SOULCOLLAGE®

A 5-week series to take you deeper into making and engaging your SoulCollage® deck.

Spend Sunday evenings in September exploring the suits in your SoulCollage® deck. Each session we'll investigate a suit to understand the energies that they carry and the wisdom that they make available to us. We'll make cards for that suit from a rich collection of images and do activities designed to tap into their particular strength. The final week will be devoted to how suits can be used to strengthen the meaning of our cards in spreads.

    • Wk 1 Committee Suit - Voices in our Heads

    • Wk 2 Council Suit - Archetypes in our lives

    • Wk 3 Companion Suit - Body energy, animal energy

    • Wk 4 Community Suit - Allies and inspiration

    • Wk 5 Card readings - The wisdom in our decks
