The SoulCollage® Facilitator Training is for anyone who wants to facilitate SoulCollage® for self-discovery in groups and with individuals.

Preparation and Prerequisites

No degrees or certifications are necessary to take this training, but in order for everyone to enter the Training with similar basic experience, it is required that participants prepare as follows:

Before you come, to a Training, it is important to:

  1. Read SoulCollage® Evolving by Seena B. Frost
  2. Listen to Seena Frost's two basic CDs 
    (Introduction to SoulCollage® and Facilitating SoulCollage® in Groups) - 
    Both are also available for purchase and digital download at the iTunes store.
  3. Make several cards for your own deck in three of the suits (one card in the Companions Suit is sufficient).  We want you to have a working knowledge of the SoulCollage® process, its structure of suits, and its Principles
  4. Experience SoulCollage®!  Mariabruna Sirabella, SoulCollage® Trainer, has said that making cards without reading them is like preparing a delicious meal and not eating it. We would like you to have enjoyed your meal by:

If you can't find a SoulCollage® Introductory workshop near you, you can take a recorded video course which will give you a sense of the deep potential of the SoulCollage® process in community and also give you some valuable basic information. There are two "Fundamentals of SoulCollage®" courses to choose from online:

If you decide to sign up for this Training, please schedule your time to complete these prerequisites. This is a Training, not a retreat, and this preparation is necessary. You, your Trainer and your Training colleagues will appreciate that you have completed the basics before you come. 

Attendance at all sessions of the three-day SoulCollage® Facilitator Training is required in order to call yourself a SoulCollage® Facilitator and your groups SoulCollage® Groups. It will be helpful also if you read Principles of SoulCollage® and the SoulCollage® FAQ.

NOTE: Agreement to attend and complete all sessions

If you want to use SoulCollage® in your work, you must prepare for, be on time for, and complete all sessions of the Facilitator Training. This Training has been condensed as much as possible to make it affordable, so every minute in sessions is essential. Those who are late or do not complete a session will not become SoulCollage® Facilitators. They will not receive CEs or a completion certificate. 

Certificate of Completion

Individuals who complete all sessions of the SoulCollage® Training will receive a certificate of completion and may use the SoulCollage® trademark in doing SoulCollage® individual or group work according to the Principles of SoulCollage®.
SoulCollage® trains, rather than "certifies," Facilitators.

Training Tuition

The Training fee of $850 includes, for those who complete all sessions of the Training, the right to use the registered trademark "SoulCollage®" in facilitating live in-person (live) SoulCollage® workshops or groups according to the Principles of SoulCollage®. 

The Training fee also includes:

  • The training sessions at Santa Sabina Center
  • Supplies and Training materials, including card-making supplies and a 100-page SoulCollage® Facilitator's Workbook
  • Payment of your first one-year membership in the SoulCollage® professional organization, the SoulCollage® Facilitators' Circle
  • Use of the soulcollage.com website to create your own Facilitator's webpage and the ability to advertise your workshops on it
  • Access to extensive Facilitator resources in the password-protected section of the soulcollage.com website and on social media

Accommodations at the Training are not included in this fee. See Accommodations below.

There is a discounted fee for early registration until midnight January 15, 2020. Pay only $795. In order to qualify for the discounted early registration fee, full payment for both the tuition and accommodations must be received by this time.

If you would like continuing education credits (CEs) for your professional license, there is an additional fee of $25 for the 24 CEs. See further CE information below.

Santa Sabina Center sustains an environment that nurtures a contemplative way of being, with a focus on the Earth, the Arts, and the contemplative dimension of its spiritual heritage. 

Accommodations are simple. All linen is provided including towels. Bedrooms do not have private baths. Your room will be made up before your arrival. The Retreat does not provide in-room service during your stay. Additional linen is available upon request. Quiet Time is to be observed after 10pm. WiFi is available.


ADA Accommodations and Information

One bedroom at the Center is available on the first floor. All others are on the second floor. Please let us know if ADA accommodation is needed. A participant must be able to on time forbe present forparticipate in, and complete all sessions in the Training to become a SoulCollage® Facilitator. The few days are packed with exercises and information in order to make the Training financially accessible to more people, and this can sometimes be arduous, especially for people who are challenged in terms of energetic stamina. There is a lot of sitting, some movement exercises (which could be modified), and dyadic and group sharing. 

Please write to the Registrar for more information as we must arrange accommodation with the facility.

Room rates (per person, including meals) - Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights 

$675 (single), $550 (double), and $470 (commuter). Meals are included, Wednesday dinner through Sunday lunch. Email training@soulcollage.com with questions about reservations for the nights pre- and post-Training, ADA accommodation, or any other questions. 

All payments are due by February 29, 2020.




Santa Sabina's food service is responsive to the needs of individuals and groups. They provide healthy, carefully prepared meals. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available with advance notice of your dietary needs. You will answer questions when registering to let us know your needs.


Paying for Your Accommodation Selection

Your reservations and housing arrangements are managed by SoulCollage® for the Training dates. Please don't call Santa Sabina about these. When you register, please provide your accommodation preferences. Accommodations are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please let us know if you intend to arrive an evening prior to the Training or stay a night after the Training and we will let you know what is available and the additional fees for the additional nights.

Work-Study Opportunities

SoulCollage Inc. wants to make this SoulCollage® Training possible for people if they cannot afford it otherwise, especially if they will be facilitating SoulCollage® with people who also might not have access to this method otherwise. If this applies to you, we usually offer one work-study position for a new participant at each Training. The person accepted for this position pays tuition of $495, instead of the regular training fee of $850. Applicants on a wait list from previous Trainings are given priority.
Work Study responsibilities include:

  1. Helping on Wednesday with set up
  2. Helping with break down and packing up on Sunday early afternoon
  3. Helping with registration
  4. Setting up chairs, art supplies, clean-up and other tasks during part of meal breaks and breaks between workshop sessions and other assistance as needed to the Trainer.
  5. These tasks involve some lifting (up to 40 lbs.), such as boxes of magazines, books and products, or rearranging tables and chairs. 

Work-study participants are responsible for the full cost of their accommodations and $495 for the Training tuition. If a Work Study person becomes unable to fulfill the work-study agreement at the Training, we require that she/he repays the balance of the full training fee within one year.

Work study applicants who have completed the Training pre-requisites upon applying will have priority consideration.

We also have a Diversity Scholarship Fund which provides some financial help with tuition for people 1) who need financial assistance in order to take the Training, and 2) who are already working or volunteering with populations that would normally not have access to SoulCollage®. Persons who have received some assistance include those working or volunteering with refugees, those incarcerated, veterans famlies, domestic violence shelters, or substance abuse recovery programs. The Fund is small at this time and can never provide full scholarships. Write for information and to receive an application.


Continuing Education Credits

The CE fee charged by SoulCollage Inc. is $25 for the 24 CE hours of credit for one professional license/person. That fee is due at the time of registration and is not refundable. 

Art Therapists


The ATCB (Art Therapy Credentials Board) has for a long time accepted SoulCollage® Institute and SoulCollage Facilitator Training CEs for continuing education credit for ATR-BCs, because these courses were accepted for continuing education credits by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences mental health licensure board (and are now approved to be awarded through CAMFT in California). Participants who need CEs for ATR-BC licenses, please check the ATCB requirements. 


CEs for several licenses in most states for the SoulCollage® Facilitator Training​

CEs in other states may be available PENDING APPROVAL by the granting agency. If you are interested, please inquire at training@soulcollage.com about CEs. You can check online to see if your license and state are covered. Your Trainer's application must be submitted for these CEs at least three weeks in advance of the Training start date. Licenses that may be covered include: LMFT, LCSW, LPC, CPC, LPHC, and some other Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Nurses, and Psychologists. 

The entire course in this Training is eligible for CEs as above, except for mealtimes and other breaks. Please contact the administration if you have concerns or grievances.

SoulCollage® Facilitator Training Goals:

  • Prepare therapists to facilitate SoulCollage® competently and confidently with clients (as individuals clients, in groups, and in workshops.)
  • Demonstrate to therapists how to use intuition and 
    imagination (utilizing images, gestalt, and community support in the SoulCollage® method) to help clients find meaning and guidance for their lives.
  • Demonstrate to therapists the benefits to clients of making and using SoulCollage® cards and to be able to explain and facilitate this method with  clients they assess as prospective beneficiaries of the method and to identify in what ways a client might need encouragement to best utilize the method.

Professionals will learn:

  • To compile appropriate art therapy materials for SoulCollage® work, so that the client may fully utilize the method to identify images that have meaning for him or herself and create collaged cards from those images.
  • To describe and demonstrate how SoulCollage® utilizes intuition and imagination to help clients guide their lives, by using the cards in a gestalt process.
  • Ethical principles (scope of competence, scope of practice, safety, non-exploitation of clients, dual relationship) apply to work conducted with the SoulCollage® method.
  • To assess which clients might benefit from SoulCollage® and to create a safe container for clients doing SoulCollage® work in individual or group sessions.
  • To prepare a safe and welcoming container for a client from any ethnicity, sexual preference group, gender or religion.

Please be on time to be sure you are present to complete the requirements to become a Facilitator. FULL Attendance is required at all sessions. In order to receive a completion certificate, please make your travel or commuting plans to permit your attendance at all these sessions.



  1. Be sure to bring all your SoulCollage® cards if you can. (If you have hundreds and are flying, just bring a subset of the ones that want to come with you.) You do not need to bring images as those will be provided. If you are using 5 x 8 inch cards there will be blank cards provided. If your cards are another size, bring some blanks. Glue and scissors will be provided, but you can bring your own if you have special ones you like. If you prefer using an Exacto or precision knife, please bring it along with your own healing mat to work on. (Don’t pack scissors or knives in your carry-on luggage!).
  2. Bring layers of clothes as the weather on the California coast can vary from quite warm to quite cool. Rain gear and an umbrella are a good idea. Socks or slippers might be nice. You might like to have a refillable water bottle, and ear plugs. You might like to have a head lamp for extra light while card-making.
  3. Please do not wear perfume, essential oils or other scents as a courtesy to people who have environmental sensitivities.

When registering you will be offered 2 methods of payment:

  1. You will be able to pay your full tuition of $850 (or $795 early full registration by January 15, 2020) or a $495 deposit to hold your space using PayPal/Credit Card.
    • Please note: If paying a deposit, the remainder of the early registration fee ($300) must be paid by February 29, 2020. If remainder is not paid by that time, the balance due will be $355 by February 29, 2020.
  2. Or you can pay by mailing a check payable to "SoulCollage Inc." to SoulCollage Inc., 450 Jarvis Rd, Santa Cruz, CA 95065. (You still need to complete the registration form by clicking REGISTER NOW).

Accommodation Payments

When you register, please provide your accommodation preference (see above). Please register early as rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Your reservations and housing arrangements are handled by SoulCollage® for the Training dates.

Cancellation Policy

1.  Training Tuition

A full refund, less a $75 processing fee, is given at the cancellation of a SoulCollage® Facilitator Training registration if the cancellation is received by midnight, February 29, 2020 PTThis processing fee applies to all payments, whether a deposit or a payment in full.

You may also apply this credit toward a new SoulCollage® training, run by SoulCollage Inc. in Santa Cruz/San Jose area which may be held within the next 12 months, and avoid paying the processing fee if you do attend a Training in that time frame. If the Training fee is increased in the future, you will pay the difference between the new fee and your payment on account.

No refund or credit is given for cancellations made on March 1, 2020 or later, if you fail to attend, or if you leave the event early, or if you miss part of a session and cannot receive a certificate (See Participant Agreement).

If you must make a last minute cancellation, you also have the option of offering your payment toward a scholarship fund that we are building to support the work. If you have any questions, please email us for more information.

2.  Accommodations

A refund of your room payment, less a $30 processing fee, will be given for cancellations received by midnight, Pacific Time, February 29, 2020.

No refund can be given for room cancellations received on February 29, 2020, or later, unless we are able to register another participant to fulfill your room reservation.

Trained Facilitators Retake the SoulCollage® Facilitator Training

NoteTrained SoulCollage® Facilitators who would like to retake this Training with Mariabruna Sirabella in her California Trainings may do so for $550 plus accommodations. When you register, check the appropriate box under Fees.  The Training has evolved considerably over the years, and we know those who have taken the Training a second time, at a different point in their lives, have had a new and rewarding experience, both personally and professionally. Please contact other Trainers individually to learn their fee policies for Trained Facilitators attending their Trainings. You will receive a special certificate of renewal.
