In mid-2013, after experiencing chronic fatigue and repeated illnesses  for a year, I woke up one morning  with an inner voice speaking to me saying, “You must heal yourself.” Thus began a journey of change, the most important being using expressive arts, including  Intuitive Painting and SoulCollage® to access my intuition and inner wisdom. I immediately got better and was amazed at the insights and healing that took place! I spent a couple of months that summer and fall traveling, and taking classes in Intuitive Painting, Mandala making, and SoulCollage®, and in September, 2013 I became a trained SoulCollage® facilitator. In February, 2015 I graduated from a year long Expressive Arts teacher training program with Chris Zydel of Creative Juices Arts. In early 2014, I formed Chrysalis Creative Arts to offer SoulCollage®, Intuitive Painting, and other Expressive Arts workshops.

I also work full-time as a Member Benefits Coordinator for the California School Employees Association in San Jose California, and prior to that I worked for Santa Clara Unified School District in Santa Clara, California for eight years. Prior to my work in education, I worked as a consultant and trainer for software systems. I have a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Integral Studies from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.

Personal work with own SoulCollage® cards

I have found SoulCollage® to be transformative. As I was going through major changes in the summer of 2013, I found myself making several cards with all male images. I realized I was accessing my male strength and power to help me take needed action in my life. Another example is how SoulCollage® helped me quiet my very strong Inner Critic. I was in an intuitive painting workshop, and as I was trying to paint, a voice inside my head was telling me how wrong my painting was, how terrible it was, how I couldn’t do it and should stop immediately. This voice was getting louder and louder! It was practically screaming at me and was completely hindering my painting process. I thought to myself, how am I going to find a solution to this? I stopped painting and went to my room to be with my SoulCollage® process. I got out my journal and gave voice to my Inner Critic by asking questions of her.  After 15 minutes or so I was amazed – by giving my Inner Critic a voice and bringing her into the light instead of trying to shunt her aside, she calmed way down and didn’t bother me the whole rest of the week as I painted merrily along. She is so much quieter now and when she needs a voice, I give her one.

  • Join us in this expressive arts experience and be empowered to discover, recover, and uncover your intuitive, creative self. Expand your self-awareness, strengthen your intuition, and access your inner wisdom. Everyone is an artist and art heals!

SoulCollage® is a creative process developed by marriage and family therapist, Seena Frost as a exploration of all aspects of ourselves. With SoulCollage®, you create a visual journal that is the story of you. Using images we gather intuitively, we will create collaged cards representing all aspects of ourselves, archetypal energies, chakra energies, and our larger community. All the answers truly are within and SoulCollage® offers a direct path to that wisdom by opening us to the wisdom of our intuition. Journaling from and sharing our cards together is a magical process of healing and self-revelation.

First, we will gather together in sacred circle. The sacred circle is a safe space for sharing whatever is going on at this time - joy, sorrow, hopes, dreams. Sacred circles are a vehicle for self awareness and healing and I have experienced their beauty and power in my own life.

Laurie McCammon, MS, writes:"One particularly powerful form of building new understandings within ourselves and with other is circle technology...Through circle, we honor our own journey of becoming and we practice non interference in others' journey of becoming. We do this by extending deep listening to others and by sharing our authentic emotions, values, struggles, and dreams...As miraculous as it seems, everyone leaves feeling refreshed and supported without any kind of coaching, advice, or direct help being offered." - Laurie McCammon, MS
