In mid-2013, after experiencing chronic fatigue and repeated illnesses  for a year, I woke up one morning  with an inner voice speaking to me saying, “You must heal yourself.” Thus began a journey of change, the most important being using expressive arts, including SoulCollage® and other expressive arts practice to access my intuition and inner wisdom. I immediately got better and was amazed at the insights and healing that took place! In September, 2013 I became a trained SoulCollage® facilitator. I am also a Certified Facilitator of Expressive Arts and Intuitive Painting and a Certified Creative Journal Expressive Arts (CJEA) Facilitator. In early 2014, I formed Chrysalis Expressive Arts to offer SoulCollage®, Intuitive Painting, Creative Journal Expressive Arts, and other expressive arts workshops as well as one-on-one facilitation.

Personal work with own SoulCollage® cards

I have found SoulCollage® to be transformative. As I was going through major changes in the summer of 2013, I found myself making several cards with all male images. I realized I was accessing my male strength and power to help me take needed action in my life. It is a deeply satisfying creative process that I am so grateful to have in my life. I love making cards, journaling from them, and sharing the process with others through my monthly workshops in my home, as well as at professional development conferences for schools.

  • I offer ongoing monthly SoulCollage® workshops for women only from 1 to 4 p.m. (See dates below.)

Join in this expressive arts experience for an afternoon of creative exploration making SoulCollage® cards! Discover, recover, and uncover your intuitive, creative self. Expand your self-awareness, strengthen your intuition, and access your inner wisdom. Claim your whole self. Everyone is an artist and no prior art or experience with SoulCollage® is needed. This time is for you!

SoulCollage® was developed by Seena Frost, a marriage and family counselor, as a creative tool for self-awareness and transformation. Using scissors, magazine images, and glue, you will create collaged cards representing all aspects of yourself and your story. We start the afternoon by beginning to sort through images and collecting those that are "calling" to us for possible use in our card making. Then we gather in a circle for with a brief meditation, an introductory exercise with one of the images you have collected, and voluntary sharing time in circle. The circle is a safe space for sharing whatever you would like about what is going on at this time in your life. (Sharing is completely voluntary and not required.) After sharing together, we will spend the majority of the workshop time creating SoulCollage® cards.  For those new to making cards, I give a brief overview of the process, while those who are returning can dive right into card making. There will also be time for journaling and sharing our cards together. The journaling time is an opportunity to discover meaning and insights from our creative process.

No prior art or SoulCollage experience is needed. All supplies are included. Please bring a journal and a pen.

  • Claiming Your Heart’s Desire by Healing Your Inner Child

Join us for a weekend of exploring your true heart’s desire by meeting your Inner Child and building a healthy inner family!

We all have a child inside of us. A child once filled with wonder, imagination, creativity, and spiritual connection. A child who still holds all these qualities, but who may have gone into hiding. Healing and getting to know your inner child are the keys to discovering, uncovering, and claiming your true heart’s desire.

From Friday evening at 7 p.m. through Sunday noon, join us for an immersive experience of inner exploration, creative play with Creative Journal Expressive Arts (CJEA) and SoulCollage® activities, and healing. This workshop is based on the work of Dr. Lucia Capacchione, PhD. Dr. Capacchione is an expressive arts pioneer and author of 23 books on the healing power of creativity, including the highly acclaimed “Recovery of Your Inner Child.” It is also based on the work of Seena Frost, MFT who developed SoulCollage® as a creative and transformative process for self-discovery.

No art experience is necessary. We are all artists and art heals. This will be a safe, supportive, and judgement free space. All art materials will be provided.
