Description of SoulCollage® work

I have been facilitating SoulCollage® groups in the Charlotte area since 2004 and never fail to be amazed at the discoveries that participants make when they allow themselves to follow their intuition and let the images speak to them.  SoulCollage® is an easy and fun, creative process which allows you to get to know yourself better through the experience of creativity.  I love creating a sacred space around the class and do this by incorporating poetry and music into my workshops.  In this fast paced world SoulCollage® is a perfect way to slow down and spend time building a relationship with yourself and your friends.  I find that SoulCollage® is also a form of visual meditation.

Trainer Statement

Catherine trained as a SoulCollage® Facilitator with Seena Frost in June, 2004 and has been a SoulCollage® Facilitator Trainer since 2012.  Catherine often combines her love of the labyrinth with the SoulCollage® process, and is also a Veriditas Faculty member. Outside Catherine's studio in Charlotte, NC you will find a labyrinth (or two), inside the studio you will find mixed media projects, photography, art journaling and more to inspire your creative life.

Personal work with own SoulCollage® cards

I turn to my SoulCollage® cards when I am confused, frustrated or anxious.  Making a card can often uncover what is really worrying me, and can bring me a sense of direction and peace.  Having collected images since I was a child and believing in the healing power of the image, SoulCollage® is a way to combine the things I love in a meaningful way.  It is also a way to re-discover the creative artist within.

  • Both the labyrinth and the SoulCollage® process can be used as tools of transformation to help us navigate the many challenges of life. They both give us ways to access our own inner resources and intuition. Using one of them alone will make a difference in your life, but used together they amplify and deepen each other because they are both languages of the soul. They enable us to access our inner world and deepen our understanding of ourselves as we journey on this path called life. Both processes allow us to create a sense of order out of the information that bombards us from all directions, and both encourage us to develop a higher level of awareness which enables us to thrive in the complex and ever-changing world in which we live.

This one-day workshop will include a labyrinth walk as well as time to make SoulCollage® cards and work with them as a way to process and integrate our walk. Each participant is given a kit of SoulCollage® supplies to use and take home with them as well as access to an abundance of images to create their cards. Participants will also learn creative ways to add labyrinth energy to their SoulCollage® cards.

  • In these unstable times, who among us is not searching for a sense of inner safety and calm?

Laurie Nadel, psychotherapist and author of “The Five Gifts: Discovering Hope, Healing, and Strength When Disaster Strikes” knows what it is like to have her life turned upside down.  In her search for reliable ways to release the painful emotions brought about by these difficult experiences, Laurie discovered SoulCollage®, a creative hands-on process that bypasses the rational mind and let us tap into our own wisdom and inner strength.

Carl Jung said: “Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.” By combining the SoulCollage® process with an understanding of The Five Gifts, you will discover and integrate ways to support yourself and others with grace, compassion and strength in these uncertain times.

Laurie Nadel will be co-teaching this workshop with Catherine Anderson, SoulCollage® Facilitator Trainer and author of “Meeting Your Soul on the Labyrinth: SoulCollage® and the Labyrinth as Pathways for Transformation”.
