Biography

Over the years I've learned that I am many things to many people and that what I think may be a strength I posess can end up being a challenge in a different situation (and vice-versa.) Some of them the personas I have include wife,  mother, daughter, teacher, healer, chaplain, facilitator, counselor, friend, and animal caretaker.  In my professional life I am licensed and certified counselor, a board certified chaplain, a board certified coach, MARI practitioner and teacher,  a certified teacher and an ordained minister. Facilitating SoulCollage® trainings allows me to inspire, and assist others in finding him/herself. SoulCollage® is like taking some or all the portions of life; and in a visual and expressive way clarifying or sometimes codifying them. This process has helped me expand and define some of my own personas.  It helps my clients and is healing to the spirit. Creating a a card and using my deck is a deeply engaging and satisfying experience that has helped me see the patchwork of days we call living each become their own little collages adding up to our own individual art work, our lives.

Description of SoulCollage® work

I discovered SoulCollage® when browsing in an online bookstore a number of years ago.  I experimented with cards and then decided that one day I would attend a Facilitator training.  In June 2010, my dream became real when I attended the first ever training held in the Midwest. Led by Kat Kirby who was assisted by Audrey Chowdhury, the training exceeded my expectations.  Both trainers shared their substantial experience and knowledge and their warmth and generosity throughout the training helped me learn and grow into the process.  I use my cards daily and am prepared to lead groups and assist others learn and grow through creating and using their own cards.

One of the things I find so amazing about SoulCollage®  is that in using my cards I gain an understanding of  myself in a tangible way.  Circumstances in my life taught me to be intentional about caring for those I love. To take time to look at and analyze a situation I find myself in before I make judgments. I’ve  learned that people communicate perhaps equal amounts, in the spoken and the unspoken. I try to really listen and to observe what is said to me before I react. I want to be generous with my time and to maintain a sense of humor. These things are reflected to me in the creation of my cards and also in the reading of them.

Personal work with own SoulCollage® cards

My own work with SoulCollage® has been transforming, allowing me to express myself in a way that is liberating, creative and intuitive.  I've enjoyed working with Tarot for many years but SoulCollage® is different because it is relevant to me in a deeply personal way that continues to evolve. SoulCollage® shows me keys to my personal, spiritual, and emotional growth.  It is great for individual and for group work.  My life is the richer for it!
