Biography

In 2013, I was introduced to SoulCollage(R) at a continuing education program entitled Grief and Art Therapy. Having experienced two significant losses in the the months prior to the program, I learned first hand the healing and transformative gift of SoulCollage(R).  I often say that the deep process of collaging images helped me "piece my life back togeter again" in a way that gave meaning. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I believe that to achieve true "well-being" all the parts of an individual - their emotional, physical, spiritual, as well as, the intellectual and creative self must be acknowledged and integrated. Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, Jungian, and Narrative Theories inform my practice and are supported by breathe work, guided imagery, journaling, and Soul Collage(R).  Clients who utilize SoulCollage(R) with traditional talk therapy have the potential to gain insight and a greater sense of their personal strengths when they tap into their internal wisdom.  When used in the counseling setting, SoulCollage(R) becomes an easy and non-threatening adjunct therapy that allows the therapist to meet the client where they are, and allows the client greater participation in their own healing.  Maryann took Facilitator Training from Kat Kirby in 2016 and offers SoulCollage(R) not only to clients, but in day-long workshops and weekend retreats, and in monthly Peer Networking and Peer Supervision workshops for mental health clinicians. Individual sessions are available upon request.
